Assistant Teacher


  • Assists teacher to conduct a productive and supportive classroom environment for children of different learning styles and abilities.

  • Helps plan individual and group activities for young children to stimulate growth in language, social and motor skills.

  • Collaborates with teacher and other members of staff to help prepare daily lesson plans with emphasis on individualized instruction and IEP goals

  • Supports curriculum design and implementation. Assists in selection of books, equipment, and other instructional materials

  • Collaborates on an effective classroom environment conducive to learning through functional and attractive displays, interest centers, and exhibits of students’ work appropriate for their physical, social, and emotional development

  • Helps conduct ongoing assessments of student achievements


  • Bachelor's degree required

  • Experience working with neurodivergent children required

  • School experience preferred

  • Teacher Certification in Early Childhood Special Education preferred

  • M/M SPED Credential preferred


  • Interest in child development

  • Knowledge of different styles of intervention

  • Creative and artistic abilities

  • Organizational skills

  • Patience and flexibility

  • Strong communication skills

  • Knowledge of latest education theories and practices
